Hi Libby,
Just a short note to tell you what a wonderful time I had at Frank's clinic on the weekend. My whole outlook with respect to riding my horse has changed completely and I hadn't ridden so comfortably for such a long time. I felt I established a real rapport with my horse.
Frank is an extremely talented and gifted person and he can certainly make you feel relaxed with your horse. To ride without a bit was certainly a triumph.
The whole weekend was enlightening. May I congratulate you and everyone involved and thank you for the time and effort you all contributed.

Dear Frank,
Following your recent clinic in Perth, Western Australia, I have spent a lot of time petting and bonding with my Thoroughbred mare. Yesterday, my house was smack in the path of an approaching bushfire and I had to evacuate my house and property. In the recent past I have had a lot of trouble getting this mare on the float. Yesterday, with the help of some wonderful neighbours Sarah went almost straight on the float, on the side of the road with cars and helicopters everywhere.
I took her to my mum's back yard which is very small and suburban. When I stayed with her, she was really relaxed, even resting a hind leg. She whickered when I went towards her and came to me to have her ears rubbed. When I left her she became upset. The time that I have spent earning this horse's trust has paid off a million times. If I had not spent this time, the potential was there for me to lose my horse. Thankfully, house, property and all animals were all spared.

| "Horses are my passion. I grew up on a ranch and have ridden all my life. Natural horsemanship seemed like such a logical extension of my involvement with horses that I began taking clinics 3 years ago to take my relationship with horses to a deeper level. In a recent clinic with Frank Bell, I learned (and applied more of what I learned) during the 3-day event that I received from other instructors during 7 or 10 day clinics. Frank was born to teach natural horsemanship!" |

My husband and I attended the Arizona Intensive Clinic which was truly life-changing. We have attended other clinics, both in person and via home courses, but must say Frank's method is TOPS, the BEST. Frank is an outstanding teacher with the ability to make things clearly understood with all the why's, how-to's, and friendship with the horse. Of all we've seen, Frank's system, full of heart SURPASSES all because of simplicity, clarity, safety, understanding, and a gentle loving approach to the horse. It is companionship, not just training. We made wonderful new friends who network to help each other. The camaraderie we experienced at the ranch was wonderful. Beautiful scenery, fantastic food, best vacation ever.

Hi Frank,
Gemma here. I don’t no if you remember me but I am Susan’s friend and I was riding the big chestnut horse Riley at your clinic in Melbourne at Greenhills.
I just thought I would email you and let you no that I think your 7 Step Safety System is the best! My friend recently bought a little 12hh pony and was having lots of trouple with her!! When she was riding the pony would rear up and pig root for no reason. She was also a very scared little pony! She bought it to my place as I had told her about your 7 Step Safety System so she wanted to see if it would work and of course it did!!
I worked with the pony doing the 7 steps every second day for a week and by the end of the week she was riding the pony in the round yard and out in the paddock with hardly any problems at all!! I kept working with the pony for another week and by the end of that week it was amazing she was a totally different horse in every way and dead quiet to ride she no longer pig roots or rears. It was amazing to see the tranformation of a scared pony that was really hard to ride to see my friend ride her with no problems!! I just want to thank you as you have taught me alot and I think everyone in the world should use the 7 Step Safety System!!
I hope you are well and everything is going great!!
Thank You again. |

Hi Frank,
My experience at the clinic at Joe and Andrea's was awesome. How you keep each person totally challenged with so many levels of experience represented is truly a gift. Each of us came away a better horse person and each of us is grateful for how available you are to each of us for individual help and how personable you are. You have a unique way of expressing praise and bringing in the area needing correction. You lift people up and make them feel that they can do what needs to be done. You bring people along with you for the ride, so to speak, almost like buddying a horse, as you explain how to do each of the Seven Steps to Safety. Then you watch each one do the step and see that each person moves up a notch from where he or she began. I truly admire your manner of teaching.
I thank you again, Frank, for following the passion in your life to share the Seven Steps to Safety with everyone who wants to learn them. From experiencing and observing the clinic every rider received a safer horse as a result of participating in the Seven Steps to Safety clinic. |

Dear Frank Bell,
Thank you for presenting an educationally enlightening 2-day seminar about your 7-Step Safety System. It empowers the horse! You “Wowed” me! The first day of the seminar I realized what a win-win situation this was for my horse and for me. By the second day I saw significant changes in my horse. I was able to calm and relax him more frequently on the ground and in the saddle. The changes in my horse are wonderful to see. You’ve shared with me actions I can perform to help my horse relax, regroup and perform the task on hand safely. And, I’ll be able to continue aiding my horse and other horses to come. If I could advise any person, at any level of horsemanship, any seminar to take, it would be your 7-Step Safety Seminar. Your technique teaches people to empower the horse. Thank you for your sage advice, helpful knowledge and genuine interest in keeping fellow horse-enthusiasts safe. |

My initial search for a horsemanship program was to round out my experience as an equine massage therapist. In doing so, I've attended many clinics by some of the best clinicians in the business. This search led me to Frank Bell and his "7 Step Safety System".
What can I say without first saying something about Frank Bell the man. Franks's gentle manner and overwhelming enthusiasm he shows to both human and horse left me with a positive attitude that I could master this training system without worry of spending thousands of dollars or being overwhelmed in learning too much too fast. Since then my own experience with Frank only deepened my trust in Frank's "7 Step Safety System" because it got right to the heart of all horse training. Pressure and release and bonding this four legged creature to the point of mutual respect. These gentling exercises teach horses and owners alike to overcome fear and trust issues and willingly learn from each other.
The results of my own experiences using the 7SSS system has been incredible success with horses of various breeds including aggressive horses, lazy horses, green unbroke horses and scared rescued horses. These 7 steps are basic ground work and Frank will tell you be creative and add more as you become more comfortable. You can never do too much ground work when safety is concerned and don't forget outside issues that may be flushed out when training your horse. Horses will and do react differently to new environments, barns, stalls, stress, sore back from saddle fit, neck stiffness, dental problems and heavy training among others. Basically I've tried to read my horses while training and listen to what their body language is saying.
With The 7 Step Safety System training you will gain confidence in yourself and confidence in your horse and gain greater trust in each other as you continue to build on your training skills. |

Dear Frank,
I was just going to update you on the progress that I have been making with my sister's stallion. We had just gotten him back from the equine behavior modifier (cowboy) when your clinic took place at the farm. even though I did not participate, I truly enjoyed watching and learning!! You were busy when I took the horse out, and missed him standing on his hind legs repeatedly at the beginning of the ride. After having reinforced the usefulness of the one rein stop for two days, it was quite natural for me to apply the technique and get him back on the ground and into work.
My confidence has grown by leaps and bounds knowing that I can gain control of this horse any time I need it. This past week-end, I took him to his first show, and he was high point both days!! I take him on trail rides every day without any fear that he will be a problem. He has never really challenged me since that first day, because we begin by yielding to each rein before we walk forward, and all resistance is gone before it sets in.
I truly enjoy riding this horse now and will sing your praises anytime!! |

Frank- Leroy is a BIG 4 Y.O Devil's Garden Mustang I started at Brian Neubert's last week. On the end of the 5th day I took him outside after a good session in the arena. He had never been outside under saddle. We walked about 15 yards when I felt a big twitch and a split second later I was being shot out of a cannon. My first reaction was to pull back only to see big white eyes, tongue out, and head wrenched up high and no relief. Then I remembered the 1 rein stop we had been working on with him for 5 days. He came right around and we stopped under a big pine tree with rocks all around about 50 yards from where he bolted. I never knew how valuable and how empowered something like that would make me. This could have been a big wreck but it turned out a big plus. I always remember how much you emphasized the one rein stop and I want to say you could never overdo it. I will work on it with every horse, every day.

Mr. Bell,
I just wanted to let you know that I truly enjoyed the clinic in Fraser. I didn’t get to attend Sunday due to an emergency move with my husband. Just in the one day, I learned a lot. I don’t have any horses of my own yet and I don’t have the experience that most of the folks in your clinics do but your information will be a great asset for me in the future. Just a side bar, my instructor speaks highly of you!
If you ever get back to Colorado to do another clinic, I sure would like to come again and who knows maybe by then I will have a horse to bring.
Thank you so much, you are a wealth of knowledge, a true gentleman and very personable! I can only hope someday to have some of the knowledge that you possess with horses! |

Hi Frank,
Just have to share with you our recent success. I had one of my former horse trainer's come over and a hardened cowboy from the back country horsemen. They could not believe that in one week-end Sally Ann had transformed into a totally different horse. The 'cowboy' said, "She changed that much in one week-end?"
I went for the first 'off the place' ride yesterday. Rode for about a mile to check her out to see how safe she felt. She did so good that I took her into the mountains behind our place (in the past it has been too frightening for her). She was incredible! Calm, rational, sensitive, trusting etc etc etc. I rode for 3 hours! Yippee!
Stephanie told me yesterday that her horse has been so good that on Wednesday she skipped the steps thinking that it wasn't necessary, and she said Newt (?) was a butt head. Thursday she did the steps and he was wonderful. So, if you talk to Frank, let him know how much it has changed our relationship with our horses - we are so thankful for him and his ability to share with others. |

Hi, Frank.
I participated in a weekend clinic you did at Bear Creek Stables in Los Gatos, California a couple of years ago.
I just wanted you to know that I've taken many of your training techniques to heart, and that one -- getting a nervous horse to lower its head to the ground -- came in especially handy today. A boarder was leading her new Thoroughbred to the arena, but before she could get there the mare went completely ballistic, rearing, bucking, charging -- the whole schmear. The poor owner was having trouble even keeping hold of the lead line, to say nothing of controlling the horse, so I asked if I could step in, and she let me. Once I could safely get hold of the lead line -- no easy feat -- I used body language and a firm but calm voice to begin to quiet the mare, and then I got to her head and used your technique of bringing the head close to the ground to put her in a relaxed posture. It worked like a charm, and I was leading a calm, sane horse within a few minutes.
I've used that technique before with horses that are bucking and plunging on a lead line, and have always been impressed by how well it works. I also learned a thing or two about body language (mine and the horse's) from watching you at the clinic.
Anyway, thanks again for sharing your excellent techniques. I hope to watch you work again sometime. |

Dear Frank,
I just wanted to write to you and tell you how much you've changed the way myself, and those who did the clinic ride. I used to be utterly shocked at the fact that all one needed to ride a horse was themselves. I love to ride bareback, but the thought of not using reins used to make me nervous, I figured out that you give a lot of control to the horse. One week to the day, I took the lead rope off of the halter of Copper, and I rode him with my feet, no saddle, no bridle, no reins. I was so proud of myself!
All of our confidence has boosted so many levels. I cannot believe that we were able to accomplish all that we did....my mind still reels.
Happy horsey clinic-ing! |

Hey Frank,
I wanted to thank you for taking the time to come to Wrangell and teach us your system. The three day clinic was very fun and I really learned alot form it. Before the clinic I never thought that I would be able to ride Jasmine with just a peice of twine and my legs. I havent used my bridle once since the clinic. The stuff you tought us in just that three days was more information I thought I would ever learn in my whole life.
Last Wednesday when we brought the horses back to the feild were we did the clinic I thought I would be using the same amout of rein as I normally have to use but I used so little rein to make Jasmine weive around the cones I thought she was following Copper but she wasnt I was controlling her with almost nothing but my feet and legs, she wasnt going very fast but just contolling her with my legs was enough for me.
I am very glad you came to Wrangell and hope you come back. It was very fun working with you and I hope to do it again. Every time Brittney and I talk about the clinic we always say "The clinic was fun and Frank is awsome!" Thank you again for comming to Wrangell and teaching us your system it was really fun! |

Hi Frank,
I had to transport 5 horses within the past week. One was a very pushy gelding that was just walking all over his owner when I got there. I took there regular web halter off, put on a rope halter, did the bonding, pressure & release etc.. showed him that he WAS NOT going to walk over me and he immediately minded his manners and even walked right onto my trailer behind me. The next transport I did was a very spooky scared draft mare and her 3 month old colt. Again the mare walked all over her owner actually almost pulling her down one time and I suggested to the owner "why don't you let me take her for you". Again I worked your steps, showed her gently who was the "boss mare" and she calmly walked beside me 1/4 mile down the road to my trailer followed me into the trailer with no problems and the colt hoped right in also. The owner was so happy she was crying! I told her about your training methods and she wants me to come work with the mare once she is settled into her new home. The next was a QH mare and her 4 month old colt that was all in all a pretty well behaved horse. She also had a issue of bullying/pushing around her owner, but after 5 min. of working with her she was nice and polite and loaded like a dream. All of these horses were transported from a horrible farm here in our area that is known for abuse and neglect of their horses (they have 150+ horses all on dry lots and they feed cow hay and bread).
Your system has completely changed the way I see and handle horses (all of course for the better). I hope that you come back to Virginia soon so that I can attend another one of your clinics.
Thanks Again |

Dear Frank,
I have been to several clinics and had decided that I could not learn much, and did not understand the teaching. I decided to give a clinic one more chance, and I must say that you are not only a great horseman, but a great teacher also. Not everyone can teach, and you made it very easy to understand. I learned so much and now have the video to "refresh" my memory. I think the video is a must for anyone that has attended your clinic because it contains every move you showed us. I am so impressed, and thankful that you are showing people what you know in the most unselfish way. You are kind to your students too, which I have not seen much of in my past experiences.
Thank you again for a wonderful experience! |

Dear Frank:
I attended your clinic at Bear Creek Stables, and wanted to thank you for what you taught me.
For the past several months I just haven't had the mental fortitude to ride my horse, as she's still a bit green and can be a hellion at times. I just wasn't up for more stress. Participating in your clinic and watching your calm manner with horses helped me calm down myself, and put me in a frame of mind where I looked forward to riding my beast. Last week we went on a long trail ride (I did your exercises with her beforehand), and she was just about perfect. We had a great ride.
The one time she did get a bit exhuberant, my confidence remained intact because I had practiced the one-rein stop -- so I didn't let her momentary speed spurt bother me.
I was also very impressed with your patience and persistence in getting Fred's Steamer into the trailer. That boy had some major issues with trailers! |

Hi Frank,
We were at a clinic at Kandy's place, in Claypool. You worked on my horse Summer. Summer was the one who would not let you work with her, she shied away from being touched in the head. She also did not like to have her feet touched.
My daughter Amy took her to the fair this year and Summer was a champ. Both had never been to a show before so learned a lot. What was really a stunner was how Summer reacted to the people. Amy opened the door on her stall and let Summer look out and greet people. It was amazing to see how she let people pet her and play around her. She learned to trust people and realized no one was going to hurt her.
While at the fair she was hurt when she pulled her head out of a bucket too fast and caught her eyelid on the buckets edge. She ended up with 9 stiches to put it back together. When the time can to take out the stiches I was sure we would have to drug her or twitch her. The vet was sure she would have to be sedated. Amazingly, Summer stood still and let us take out all the stitches without a problem. My daughter Amy was the one who took them out! This is a complete turn around from the horse we knew. Summer now happily has her feet trimmed.

I just wanted to say how totally impressed I am with the dvds I have seen so far, I have had a few
issues with my TB horse Freddy nothing too drastically serious but never the less we both lost a bit of
confidence along the way, I have watched and rewatched your 7 SSS, and communication in the saddle, it
all makes so much sense, so as soon as I feel I have the exercises truly planted in my mind I shall
start then with all what you advise. Thanks again for the easy way of explaining things so
clearly.

Hi Libby,
Cris won another ride with your halter and equipedic saddle pad. What a way to celebrate your 60th
birthday. He destroyed the field winning 81 km race by over an hour. Not only winning heavyweight
division carrying 101.5 kilos but also best overall time. There were 105 horses in the ride. It was
very hot and humid and hard to keep the horses body temp down.
